Progressive Dinner

The Fourth Annual Holiday Dinner was December 3rd  and was a great success with 65 guests.  The bus shuttled the group from Eclair's Bistro at 327 Texas St. on the east side of the old town square to dinner at the 1882 R.A.Roberts house (better known as the Gingerbread House) on the west side of the square.

The costumed carolers greeted guests on arrival to make certain all were in a festive mood.
Cherry & Bill Goodson, June & Lary Allen and Gloria Brady.

Jessica's Flowers, Gifts and Tearoom catered the event from the towering centerpieces of pearls, hydrangeas, lillies, poinsettias and curly willows to the delicious main course served by her excellent staff.

The "Gentlemen's" Room was decorated with artifacts of Joseph Stewart who was Cedar Hill postmaster and Justice of the Peace from 1867 to 1880.  Items dating back to the 1880's were on display including his photograph, double barrell black powder shotgun (an over/under known as a hardware gun ), photograph of family home previously on Belt Line (near current Uptown Blvd.) and a picture of Pharoah's Horses the family used for decoration.

A fun time was had by all.

After dinner the group made its way up the old spiral staircase to be see the most beautiful site of the evening, Miss Caitlin Sullivan of Stacia's Dance Studion, performing the "Sugar Plum Fairy".

Then it was on to the historic home at 701 W. Belt Line currently Reunion Title and Attorney Jimmy Mobley for wonderful homemade desserts including Jimmie Ruth's famous banana pudding.  Plan on joining us for the 5th Annual Progressive Dinner next year on the first Friday of December to get the Christmas season started out right.
